Membership to Parkinson’s Pointe is free.

At Parkinson’s Pointe, “membership” means something special at Parkinson’s Pointe. Membership is our partnership with you to invest in your journey with Parkinson’s. We ask our members to officially join our community through an orientation which will be scheduled after your first class.

First Steps – Join us!

Reach out to Parkinson’s Pointe (720-468-4581, ppinfo@parkinsonspointe.org) to discuss where to start. Based on your conversation with us, we’ll have you attend a class or an event that sounds like it’s appropriate and interesting to you. Did you enjoy your time, feel productive and want to come back to do it all again? Great! We’ll follow up and schedule your orientation.

Orientation

During our orientation, we get to know you and where you are in your journey. We will ask about your confidence living with your Parkinson’s, what interventions, therapies or medications you have tried, as well as some questions about how your life has been impacted. This helps us to understand what resources we may be able to provide and how to guide your next steps with Parkinson’s Pointe.

Mobility Assessment

We will perform a brief mobility assessment when you join Parkinson’s Pointe. Some of the movements may be familiar from other assessments you have performed with your doctors or your physical therapists. This gives us a baseline for your current fitness and mobility, as well as enabling us to recommend the best classes for your skill level, interests and experience.

Why Do An Orientation?

Our orientation gives us an opportunity to get to know you and your journey better. However that’s not our only reason. Our goal is to repeat these measures with you periodically during your time with Parkinson’s Pointe to give accountability – we want to show YOU that our programs are having an impact on your journey. It gives you an objective measure of how regular exercise and strong community can help to slow your progression and give you confidence living with the disease.

What people are saying about Parkinson’s Pointe

“While battling Parkinson’s for over 12 years, I have attended a number of interesting and helpful educational seminars. Most of them had to do with motor symptoms and how best to deal with them. A few of the seminars talked about dealing with non-motor symptoms, and how to work around those difficult issues. But after attending the Emotional Wellness series, both in person and virtually, I can assure you that this is the best and most comprehensive educational seminar I have been involved with during my battle with Parkinson’s!”
