Presented by Dr. Matthew Mian, MD
Dr. Matthew Mian is a board-certified neurosurgeon with CarePoint Neurosurgery in Denver, Colorado, and serves as the Director of Functional Neurosurgery at Swedish Medical Center. He specializes in advanced surgical treatments for movement disorders, with a focus on improving quality of life for patients living with Parkinson’s disease and other neurologic conditions. In this educational session, Dr. Mian will discuss advanced surgical options for Parkinson’s disease, including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Focused Ultrasound. He will explain how these therapies work, which symptoms they can help address, and how patients are evaluated to determine the most appropriate treatment. The session will also cover the presurgical work-up, what to expect during the procedure, and recovery after surgery—helping patients and caregivers better understand today’s treatment options.

Dr. Salinas is a Movement Disorder Specialist at Rocky Mountain Movement Disorders Center in Englewood, CO. She specializes in the medical management of Parkinson’s Disease and works closely with patients before and after Deep Brain Stimulation to optimize outcomes and long term care.
